About the Founder

Michael Craner helps homeowners and businesses understand whether solar makes sense for them, identify the best system design, and manage the entire process from start to finish. My goal is simple: make going solar clear, honest, and financially smart.

As an independent energy consultant, I am not tied to any single solar company. I work with a select network of top-tier national and regional installers, allowing me to recommend the best solution based on your goals—not a sales quota. Education comes first, especially when it comes to incentives, tax credits, SRECs, and avoiding misleading “free solar” offers.

With a master’s degree in electrical engineering, solar ownership since 2010, and project management experience with organizations such as NASA, Lockheed Martin, Motorola, and Comcast, I bring technical expertise and real-world experience to every project.

I also live what I advocate—driving electric vehicles, using geothermal energy at home, and actively supporting renewable energy initiatives.
